Volunteers are needed starting Friday, October 3rd through race day, Sunday October 5th. As a volunteer you can assist in a number of areas:
PRE-RACE ASSIGNMENTS:
- Registration/Packet-Pick Up: All athletes must pick up goodie bags and race information packets at the race expo prior to the race. Shifts will be split into 3-4 hours. Volunteers are needed for this area on race day as well.
- Set Up: Set up includes: swim course, swim staging areas, transition, finish line, finish/race village area and prep for morning bike signage and run course set-up.
RACE DAY ASSIGNMENTS:
- Swim: Volunteers will be stationed throughout the swim course. Current Lifeguard and CPR Certification necessary. Volunteers will also assist in staging for start and clean-up.
- Transition Area: Volunteers are located at key ares throughout Transition to assist in securing entrances and making sure that only athletes enter the transition area. Transition is located at Joe Pool Lake.
- Bike/Run Course: Volunteers are needed in various locations along the course to make sure that athletes remain on the right path and heading in the correct direction. Volunteers in this position will also assist with water stations along the course.
- Finish Line: Assistance at the finish line is needed handing out water, medals and removing athlete timing chips.
- Refreshments: Located near the finish line, volunteers will serve food and beverages to the athletes.
- Medical Personnel: We are always looking for qualified medical personnel to assist at the Finish Line Medical Tent. Please contact John Korff if you are interested.
- Clean Up: The most important part of the day. If you like lifting heavy things, this is the job for you.
- Other: This team of volunteers will be assigned to work in multiple areas of need throughout the day. Flexibility is a necessity to this assignment.
